WVC All-Washington Academic Team students awarded scholarships

皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College student Nikole Wyles and 奥马克的WVC student Katherine Repp were recently named to the All-Washington Academic Team and were awarded several scholarships. The pair will be recognized by the WVC Board of Trustees this month.

Wyles, a 运行开始 student at the 皇冠8868会员登录 campus, won a $500 All-Washington Scholarship, a $500 Trustees Association of 社区 and Technical Colleges (TACTC) scholarship, and a $1,000 Coca-Cola Scholars 基金会 scholarship. She was selected as a 2013 Coca-Cola Bronze Scholar based on her scores earned in the All-USA 社区 College Academic Team competition.

Wyles is completing an associate of arts and sciences degree at WVC.

Her goal is to earn a master's degree in education and become a teacher. 她投入 many hours to college and community service, which includes working in the WVC Tutor Center, serving as vice president of the WVC Phi Theta Kappa honor society and as a Link Transit ambassador, and volunteering for Youth United and for the 皇冠8868会员登录 Wild as an off-ice official. For her service with Youth United, she received a 总统ial 服务奖.

Repp also earned a $500 All-Washington Scholarship. She is studying nursing and completing an associate of arts and sciences degree at 奥马克的WVC. Repp currently works at a bookstore in Winthrop, writes and reviews articles for the Omak campus Publishing Club, and volunteers at Jamie's Place, where she assists seniors with daily activities. She hopes to one day work as a nurse anesthetist.

Both Wyles and Repp were recognized at an All-Washington Academic team ceremony in 3月. The program, which recognizes and honors two-year college students for their scholastic achievement and community and college service, is sponsored by the Washington Association of 社区 and Technical Colleges, the TACTC, the State Board for 社区 and Technical Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa. Scholarship sponsors include KeyBank of Washington and the Washington State 员工 Credit Union.
